FLL Challenge Prospective Coaches Meeting

Congratulations are in order for our very own "SUPERBOTZ"! They won the South Jersey Regional Championship!!! We are very proud of our Superbotz!

Out of approximately 40,000 teams worldwide, only about 400 teams get to this level. Due to Covid, our Superbotz will wait to see what is in store for them next. Had this been a normal year, they would now be preparing to compete against the best of the world at a head-to-head competition (which of course, we know, they would have won!).

Please join us in congratulating our Superbotz!

Our Moorestown Challenge teams participated in virtual qualifying events during February 2021. All our teams were recognized at their qualifiers:
  • Modern-Age Masterminds - Champions Award
  • SciBorgs - Core Values Award
  • SuperBotz - Champions Award
  • The Super StarDogs - Engineering Excellence Award
The Modern-Age Masterminds and SuperBotz will be advancing to the virtual Southern NJ FLL Championship hosted by Rowan University on April 10, 2021.

Moorestown FLL Explore Festival

Thank you to our FLL Explore teams and volunteers who participated in our virtual Moorestown FLL Explore Festival held on January 23, 2021. Our teams were able to share what they have learned during this season with a panel of reviewers and participate in challenge activities.
The following teams from the NJ South region participated in this event:
  • Lego Masters
  • Elementary Engineers
  • Activebots
  • Energetic Boomers
  • Firebirds
  • The Red Rockets
Teams participated in a challenge activity where they were asked to build a structure with mini marshmallows and spaghetti.

Moorestown Robotics hosted a qualifier at Moorestown's UES School

This year Moorestown Robotics held a qualifier for our region at the UES school.  To avoid the appearance of favoritism, none of the Moorestown Robotics FLL teams were allowed to compete a the Moorestown qualifier.  Instead we were all encouraged to help.

Wednesday, July 10th:  Basic Robot design/coding
Monday, July 29th:  FLL Jr. Training
Monday, September 16th:  Advanced Robot
Tuesday, September 24th:  FLL jr to FLL transition training
Monday, September 30th:  Judge Training

Signups End June 4th (and more dates)

Signups for kids ends on Tuesday, June 4th.  Even if your child was on a team last year, you still need to sign them up for this year.

More dates (all meetings are at the Moorestown Library unless otherwise specified):
June 10th:  FLL Jr. 6:30-7:20, FLL 7:30-8:20.  Mandatory Coaches meeting.  Introductions, logistics, then draft for teams that need more kids.
June 18th:  6:30-8:30.  Coaches Project and Core Values Training.  This is for all new coaches and returning coaches that want to learn some 'tips'.
July 10th:  6:30-8:30.  Coaches Robot, Coding, Robot Design.  This is for all new coaches and returning coaches that want to learn some 'tips'.

Following meetings have not been scheduled yet:
Coaches Advanced Robot
Kids Coding and Robot Design
FLL Judging - this is a great class that gives you insight into what judges look for but will also help you become a volunteer judge.
